Privacy Policy [Rubber Duck Story]

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information from users ("Users") of the Rubber Duck Story mobile application, available on Android, iOS, and PC platforms.

We place great value on the protection of your data. We do not operate our own servers, and the app Rubber Duck Story does not automatically transmit or store any personal data.
However, third-party services may be involved in data processing through your use of the app (see Section 3).
Furthermore, local data processing takes place directly on your device for certain optional features within the game:
Device Identifier (Support ID & Promo Codes)
To enable customer support and allow the redemption of promo codes within the game, the app locally accesses your device's pseudonymous identifier (such as the Android ID on Android devices). This identifier is displayed to you in the settings as your "Support ID".
There is no automatic transmission of this data. You can choose to voluntarily copy this Support ID and send it to us (e.g., via email or Discord) when requesting an individual promo code or support. This ID is used exclusively to generate your promo code, process support requests, and prevent abuse or multiple redemptions.

Legal Basis (for users in the EU):
The processing of the Support ID voluntarily provided by you is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) as well as our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) in fraud prevention and the provision of customer support. This data is not passed on to third parties and is not used for advertising purposes.


3. Third-Party Services
The following third-party APIs may collect data necessary for their operation:


AdMob (Android and iOS)
We use AdMob, a Google service, to display personalized ads. AdMob may collect and use your Advertising ID for ad targeting.

Legal Basis (EU residents):We rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) to process personal data for advertising purposes. You may withdraw your consent at any time via your device settings.


Google Play Games Services (Android)
We use Google Play Games Services to support features like leaderboards and in-app purchases.


Apple Game Center & In-App Purchases (iOS)
For iOS users, we use Game Center for leaderboards and in-app purchases.


4. Contact via Email
If you choose to contact us (e.g., for bug reports or feedback), we may receive your name, email address, and message content.
This information is used solely to respond to your request or improve our service and will not be shared or used for any other purpose.

5. Data Retention
We do not store personal data unless you explicitly provide it (e.g., via email). Any data you send us will be deleted once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected.
